Ogden is a city in Weber County, Utah located in a scenic environment between Great Salt Lake and the Bear River Mountains of the Wasatch Range. Ogden is the main city and county seat of Weber County. Additionally Ogden is also the main city of the Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes nearby Davis and Morgan counties and a total population of over half a million people.

Ogden is within a well developed transportation network by air, roads, and rail. Interstate 15 and Interstate 84 jointly run through the city and branch off in the nearby city of Roy. Interstate 15 runs directly to Salt Lake City, which is about 35 miles away. Frontrunner is a commuter rail service operated by Utah Transit Authority that runs to Salt Lake City. The Ogden Intermodal Hub near the historic Union Station provides bus connections with the rail service.
The Ogden-Hinckley Airport is used for general aviation and is known as "Utah's Utah's Busiest Municipal Airport." Located on 700 acres at the southwestern corner of Ogden, the airport maintains three runways and has three Fixed Base Operators.
Public education for city students are provided by Ogden City School District, which includes more than a dozen elementary schools, Highland Junior High, Mound Fort Junior High, Mount Ogden Junior High, Ben Lomond High School, Ogden High School and Washington High School. Ogden is home to Weber State University, a public institution that has more than 20,000 enrolled students and offers professional, liberal arts and technical certificates, as well as associate, bachelor's and master's degrees. In Athletics, Weber State University colors are purple and white and their mascot is the Wildcats, and they participate in NCAA Division I (I-AA for football) in the Big Sky Conference. The campus is located at the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. The Dee Events Center is a state of the art indoor facility with over 10,000 seats that hosts Weber University's basketball games as well as other events such as music concerts. Another higher education facility in the city is Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College, a public two year technical college.
